EVANSTON, Ill.
 – No. 22 Northwestern looks to continue to build on its 16-2 record as they head to East Lansing, Mich. to take on Michigan State on Thursday, January 23. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. CT.

The past week was one to remember for the Wildcats. After defeating Big Ten opponents No. 15 Indiana and Penn State, the 'Cats bumped their winning streak up to four games in a row, and continued to protect their 6-1 conference record, good for a first-place ranking in the Big Ten alongside Iowa (6-1). The week earned Northwestern a spot in the AP Top 25 Women's Basketball Poll at No. 22, the first time since 2016 that Chicago's Big Ten Team made the poll.

The 'Cats were led by senior forward Abi Scheid, who was awarded Big Ten Player of the Week following her performances in the past two wins. Against the Hoosiers and Nittany Lions, Scheid averaged 20.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, and boasted impressive .789 field-goal and .800 three-point percentages. In the win over Penn State, she recorded her 1,000th career point and set a program record for most threes in a single game without missing, shooting 6-6 from behind the arc.

Junior Lindsey Pulliam continued to show out, posting 21 points against Penn State, finishing her 14thconsecutive game in double digits. At Indiana, sophomore Veronica Burton contributed 15 points, and she set a season-high of nine assists against the Nittany Lions.

Northwestern is currently undefeated on the road, with an away record of 5-0. After facing off against the Spartans, the 'Cats will travel to Maryland on Sunday, January 26 to continue conference play.
