Wildcats Host Penn State for Sunday Matinee

EVANSTON, Ill.
- Northwestern will continue Big Ten play on Sunday when it takes on Penn State at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off will be at 2pm.

Northwestern are tied atop the Big Ten with a 5-1 record so far through conference play. Penn State owns a 7-10 record with one conference win over Michigan State. 

The Wildcats enter the matchup at 15-2 overall after an impressive comeback win over #15 Indiana on Sunday, by a score of 71-69 in overtime. Senior Abi Scheid had impressive night with 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting and tied a season-high with seven rebounds. Abbie Wolf finished with 13 points on 6-9 shooting from the field and nine rebounds.

Northwestern defense was stout yet again, forcing 21 turnovers. The 'Cats finished with a +9 turnover margin and currently rank second in the Big Ten this season in that category.

Veronica Burton continued her defensive dominance, tallying five steals against the Hoosiers. The sophomore has recorded at least four steals in each of the past seven games and leads the Big Ten with 3.88 steals per game. Burton is also second in the Big Ten with 5.2 assists per game.

Junior guard Lindsey Pulliam, who ranks third in the conference with 18.1 points per game, has scored in double figures for 13 consecutive games. The 'Cats defeated Penn State last season following a dominant 22-point showing from Pulliam at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

The 'Cats are receiving 23 votes in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, giving them the 27th most points. NU ranks 13th in live RPI according to WarrenNolan.com, while Penn State ranks 206th.
