Kim Fires an Even Par 72 in Final Round of Glass City Invitational

TOLEDO, Ohio — First year Irene Kim closed her first collegiate tournament with a strong finish Tuesday, posting an even-par, 72, in the final round of the Glass City Invitational.
After a bogey on No. 10 moved Kim to 1-over on the day and 10-over in the tournament, she reeled off five-straight pars before her team-high third birdie on No. 16. A pair of pars on the final two holes gave Kim the Wildcats' first round of par or better this season. Kim finished the tournament tied for 31st at 9-over.
Senior Brooke Riley posted the Wildcats' highest individual finish, tying for 26th at 8-over in the 54-hole tournament. She shot a 2-over, 74, on Tuesday. The 'Cats finished ninth in the 13-team field.
Sophomore Kelly Sim was 3-over Tuesday, but provided the 'Cats with an excitement by making her first eagle of the season on the Par 4, 378-yard 11th hole. Sim finished tied for 37th at 10-over.
Sophomores Kelly Su and Jane Lu finished tied for 48th and 53rd, respectively.
The Wildcats will be back in action at the Mason Rudolph Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee, September 20-22.
