2019 Women's Cross Country Schedule
EVANSTON, Ill. - Head Coach Jill Miller announced the 2019 Cross Country schedule on Tuesday morning. The Wildcats are set to return to action in just under two weeks.
"As we enter the 2019 cross country season, we are concentrating on building a foundation to support success in the championship season," head coach Jill Miller said.
Miller was named the cross country head coach in July and joins the Wildcats after serving as the head women's cross country coach at Wisconsin last season. Miller was an assistant coach of cross country and track and field the four seasons prior to her promotion before the 2018 campaign. The Badgers earned four top-15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships during her tenure.
The 'Cats will begin their hunt for championship season success on August 30 at the Illini Open in Champaign before traveling to Normal, Illinois two weeks later for the Illinois State Invite on September 13.
Following the two early season contests, the team will continue its preparation for the postseason by competing on both the Big Ten Championship course and the NCAA Championship course. The first of these two meets will be on September 28, when the team travels to Columbus, Ohio for the Big Ten Preview.
The group will return to action on October 19 for the NCAA Pre Nationals meet in Terra Haute, Indiana before taking two weeks off to rest for the Big Ten Championship on November 3.
"We hope that our regular season schedule provides valuable experiences to be at our best, mentally and physically, during the month of November," added Miller.
