Kunaiyi-Akpanah Invited to Sky Training Camp

EVANSTON, Ill. - Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah has been invited to training camp with the WNBA's Chicago Sky.
"I return all the glory to God for this amazing opportunity. A big thank you to all those who have supported me through this process especially my parents, Coach Joe McKeown, Coach Kate Popovec, Coach Tangela Smith, my teammates, Prof. Verinder Syal and the Northwestern Community. I am truly blessed and highly favored as I enter this next chapter of life," said Kunaiyi-Akpanah.
Kunaiyi-Akpanah finished her remarkable career as a Wildcat with 1,112 career rebounds, the most rebounds in a single-season with 404 and her 19 double-doubles in her senior campaign give her sole possession the Northwestern single-season double-double record. The Abuja, Nigeria native earned Academic All-Big Ten honors as well as a First Team All-Big Ten selection this year. Her 78 rebounds in the six WNIT games are the most by any player in the history of the tournament.
"We are really excited about this opportunity for Pallas. She works incredibly hard and is dedicated to the game. I am so proud of the person and player she has become. You want someone like her on your team. We are all rooting for her in this next chapter." said head coach Joe McKeown.
Training camp begins Sunday, May 5 and The Sky open the 2019 season on the road against the Minnesota Lynx on May 25.
