Wildcats Make Short Trip to DeKalb for NIU Classic

EVANSTON, Ill. — The Northwestern cross country program will run its penultimate outdoor track meet of the season Friday when it competes at the 2019 Huskie Classic hosted by Northern Illinois University.

The meet will include the host Huskies, Chicago State, Loyola-Chicago, DePaul, Bradley and Triton College.

The Wildcats will send eight student-athletes to the event to compete in three events. Senior Isabel Seidel will be the lone Wildcat to compete in two events, toeing the line in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to open things up at 4 p.m. before closing the meet in the 1,500-meter.

Sophomore Amanda Davis, first year Sara McCoy, junior Jazmine Reyes and sophomore Hannah Tobin will also run the 1,500-meter.

First year Olivia Verbeke and junior MacKenzie Willson will run in the 800-meter.

The track events of the meet are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. CT. A complete order of the events is below.
