Northwestern Set to Meet Toledo in Second Round of the WNIT

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern Wildcats will hit the road this weekend to take on the Toledo Rockets in the second round of the WNIT. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. CT in Savage Arena and can be streamed on ESPN3.
Chicago's Big Ten Team opened the postseason firing on all cylinders, defeating Dayton in Welsh-Ryan Arena, 74-61. Lindsey Pulliam paced the 'Cats with 26 points, just one point fewer than her season high of 27.
Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah secured her 17thdouble-double of the season with 11 points and 17 rebounds against Dayton. The senior captain is just one double-double shy of tying the NU single-season double-double record she set last season.
Northwestern is third in scoring defense in the Big Ten overall (59.9 ppg), third in field-goal percentage defense (.379) and fifth in three-point field-goal percentage defense (.312). Toledo leads the MAC in scoring defense (60.8ppg) third (.387) and third (.303) in the same categories in the MAC, respectively.
This will be the fourth meeting between the two teams and the first time since the 2011-12 campaign. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 2-1.
The winner of the Wildcats and Rockets will face the winner of West Virginia versus Villanova in the Sweet 16.
