Wildcats Back on the Track at a Pair of Meets This Weekend

EVANSTON, Ill. — The Northwestern cross country team will continue indoor track competition this weekend when it travels in a pair of events in Michigan and Iowa.

The Wildcats will send eight student-athletes to the GVSU Big Meets at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. The GVSU Big Meets will include over 1,200 student-athletes from across the country. Friday's meet will begin at 10 a.m. with the men's and women's 5,000 meter run as the first events. Saturday's competition will begin at 10 a.m.

While the eight individuals travel north to GVSU, junior standout Aubrey Roberts will head west to Ames, Iowa, for the Iowa State Classic. Roberts, who broke the school record in the 1-mile last week at the Meyo Invitational with a time of 4:43.81, will compete in the 3,000 meter race Friday. Senior Isabel Seidel will also compete at the event as an unattached athlete in the 1 mile on Saturday.
