Allen Adds Six For Class of 2023

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern head baseball coach Spencer Allen and his staff have announced the addition of six newcomers that will join the program in the fall of 2019.
 
"I'm so proud to welcome these six young men to the Wildcat family," Allen said. "We place an emphasis on finding well-rounded student-athletes, and that's exactly what we have in this class. We're ready for the challenge of competing in the Big Ten and these guys bring us one step closer to our ultimate goals."

Jack Dyke | RHP | San Francisco, Calif. | St. Ignatius College Prep
 
High School: Awarded All-Metro Honorable Mention as a junior … Second team All-Conference as a junior … Two-time letter winner and captain as a senior at St. Ignatius … Batted .318 on the Varsity team as a junior … Played on the Norcal National and Blue club teams throughout high school … Three-year letter winner and one-year captain in football … Robert Unruh Lineman of the Year recipient in football … First-team All-Conference as a lineman.
 
Personal: Born Jack Henry Dyke on June 10, 2000 … Parents are Rich and Kelly Dyke … Anticipated major is learning and organizational change.

Evan Minarovic | SS/2B | Houston, Texas | The John Cooper School
 
High School: Selected as a Perfect Game Underclass All-American High Honorable Mention … Ranked a top-25 shortstop in Texas by Perfect Game … Three-time all-conference recipient … Won team defensive MVP three times … Set his team's season ERA record in 2018 with a 1.01 mark in 39 IP … Hit for a .319 batting average in 2018 with 2 home runs … Played for the Hunter Pence Baseball Club team all throughout high school … Helped his club team place fourth in the Perfect Game World Series at LakePoint … Set multiple high school records in football as a quarterback … Made the honor roll all four years of high school.
 
Personal: Born Evan Joseph Minarovic on Nov. 1, 2000 … Parents are Jane and Michael Minarovic … Played on the same high school and club teams as fellow 2019 Northwestern recruit Reed Smith … Anticipated major is undecided.

High School: Northern Lake County Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2018 … All-Region selection as a junior … Recipient of All-Conference and All-Area awards in both 2017 and 2018 … Four-year letter winner and one-year captain in baseball … Collected six wins with the Grayslake Central Rams as a junior with a 1.90 ERA and 55 strikeouts in over 44 innings pitched … Helped the Rams become Regional Champions in 2017 and 2018 … Played for the Slammers-Coyote club team all throughout high school … Two-year letter winner and one-year captain in basketball … Member of the National Honor Society.
 
Personal: Born Coby Robert Moe on July 2, 2000 … Parents are Brian and Robin Moe … Brian and Robin played basketball and volleyball, respectively, at Augustana College … Anticipated major is civil engineering.

High School: Central State Eight All-Conference recipient in 2018 … Ranked in the Perfect Game Top-500 … Invited to the 2018 Area Code Games Tryout … Was a Prep Baseball Report Preseason All-State Player in 2018 … Went 4-1 with a 2.17 ERA in 35.1 innings pitched as a junior … Helped his high school team become conference champions with a 28-8 record in 2018 … Aided in a regional championship and a 26-9 campaign in 2017 … Awarded three varsity letters at University HS … Played for the Chicago Scouts Association in the fall of 2018 and the Chicago Elite 17U team in the summer of 2018 … His Chicago Scouts Association team made it to finished with a National Ranking of No. 13 … Also played basketball and football for a year each in high school … Was an AP Scholar with Honors, a National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalist and an Illinois State Scholar.

High School: Team Pitcher of the Year recipient in 2018 … Awarded three varsity letters and served as a captain for two years … Pitched 53.1 innings while only allowing a 1.18 ERA and recording 70 strikeouts as a junior … Helped The John Cooper School to a 25-14 record in 2018 … Played on the Hunter Pence Baseball club team all throughout high school … Was on the academic honor roll in his junior and senior years.
