Wildcats Showcase Talent at BU Last Chance Invite

BOSTON, Mass. — The Northwestern cross country program had a trio of strong performances at the BU Last Chance Invite Sunday afternoon.
The Wildcats posted a pair of top-3 finishes and featured the top collegiate finisher in the 5,000 meter and the mile.
Junior Kelly O'Brien finished second in the mile as the top collegiate student-athlete at the event, crossing the finish line in 4:52.24. Fellow junior Sarah Nicholson was also the top collegiate finisher running the 5,000 meter for the first time this season, finishing behind five professional runners with a time of 16:51.32.
Senior Isabel Seidel, running in the event unattached, finished third in the 3,000 meter with a time of 9:48.48.
Junior Aubrey Roberts also competed in the 5,000 meter Sunday, but did not finish the race. Roberts broke the Wildcats' school record in the 5K at the BU Season Opener in December and will await confirmation on her qualification for the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 8-9 in Birmingham, Alabama.
