Christie, Dunn, Erro Named to Big Ten Preseason Honors List

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern baseball's Hank Christie, Jack Dunn, and Alex Erro were named to the Big Ten's preseason honors list, the Conference announced Wednesday.
This is the second-straight year that that NU trio has been named to the preseason list by the Big Ten. The Wildcats start the season this Friday, February 15, against Brigham Young for a three-game series.
Christie enters his third season as a member of the Wildcats' starting rotation. A member of the All-Big Ten Freshman Team in 2017, Christie has a career WHIP of 1.29. In a team-best 14 starts last season, he posted a .239 batting average against, the second-best mark on the squad.
Dunn, one of four seniors on the squad, hit a team-best .314 last season. The Alpharetta, Georgia, native has started every game since coming to Evanston, a 160-game streak entering the season. The infielder hit a career-best .314 last season while stealing a career-high 21 bases while only getting caught three times. He brings a 26-game reached-base streak into the season.
Erro, a native of Miami, Florida, hit .296 last year, the third-best mark on the team. In 196 at-bats in 2018, he only struck out 21 times — a 10.7 percent clip. In his career, he's only struck out 39 times in 429 at-bats (9.1 percent). A stalwart member of the NU lineup, he has led the 'Cats in at-bats in two straight season, adding 196 a season ago.
