Wildcats Open Six Game Homestand Against Valpo

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will kick off a six-game homestand with a matchup against Valpo on Thursday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
The Wildcats are off to a 3-0 start for the 11th straight year after consecutive road wins over Marquette and Duke.
The 63-42 victory over the Blue Devils was locked up with a 29-4 third-quarter charge by the 'Cats, sparked by a pair of three-pointers from both Lindsey Pulliam and Lauren Satterwhite.
Pulliam led all scorers with a season-high 26 points on 10-20 shooting, including a career-high four threes. The junior leads the Big Ten in scoring with 23 points per game.
Northwestern's defense held Duke to just 28% from the field and 21% from deep to go along with 16 forced turnovers. The Wildcats are allowing just 48.0 points per game, good for second in the Big Ten.
The 'Cats also are third in the conference with a +8.0 average turnover margin this season, thanks in large part to Veronica Burton. The sophomore is continuing her reign as the Big Ten's leader in steals with 4.0 per game after holding the title last season.
Chicago's Big Ten Team is 1-1 all-time against Valpo, with the last matchup coming in 2006. The Crusaders come in with a 1-2 record to open the season.
