Day One of Wildcat Invite in the Books

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern wrapped up day one of the 2019 Wildcat Invite on Friday afternoon.
Friday's action featured singles play. All four Wildcats that played in the singles draws picked up victories with Christina Hand Inci Ogut going 2-0 on the day. Hand topped Milana Lysova (Miami OH), 6-0, 6-1, in the opening round of the B draw before topping Novakovic (Marquette), 6-2, 6-3, in the second round. Ogut won 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 against Chicago State's Diana Borodina and 6-4, 7-5, over James Madison's Kylie Moulin.
Caroline Pozo won her opening match, 6-2, 6-4, over Marquette's Fleur Eggink before suffering a setback, while Vanessa Streng posted a 6-4, 6-1 opening round win in draw D with a 6-4, 6-1, decision.
Saturday's action will consist of doubles action. Play is slated to begin at 9 a.m. CT.
