Dunn, Erro Earn 2018 Rawlings 'Big Stick' Award

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern middle infielders Jack Dunn and Alex Erro were each recipients of the 2018 Rawlings "Big Stick" Award, given to the Northwoods League player at each position who had the best batting average during the regular season.
Dunn played his summer ball with the Lakeshore Chinooks and hit .316, while Erro played with the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders and posted a .348 clip.
Dunn had a productive summer with the Chinooks. The Wildcats' shortstop was named the Northwoods League All-Star Game MVP in addition to being a Northwoods League Post-Season All-Star. He led his club in hitting (.316), runs (35) and was second on the team with 54 hits.
Erro helped the Dock Spiders capture their first ever Northwoods League title. His .348 clip was tied for highest on the team, while he led the team in hits (62) and RBI (35).
To be eligible a player would have needed to have enough plate appearances to qualify for a batting title. A player must have a minimum of 2.7 plate appearances per team game.
