EVANSTON, Ill. — It is nearly time for the annual 'Kits, 'Cats and Kids Block Party, held Thursday, September 13, from 4:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Downtown Evanston (Sherman Ave. at Davis St.).

Evanston residents of all ages are invited to celebrate the back-to-school season at the free event.

There will be games, arts and crafts, family-friendly activities filling the street, live music, the Northwestern and ETHS Marching Bands, rousing pep rally speeches, and lots of dining options.

Attendees can choose from one of the many restaurant choices in Downtown Evanston or one of the food trucks serving savory and sweet fare.

Wildcat fans in attendance will also have the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets for Northwestern's game against Akron on September 15 (6:30 p.m.).

To beat the traffic, guests are encouraged to ride their bike or take public transportation to the event.

The Block Party is sponsored by the City of Evanston, Northwestern University, Downtown Evanston, the Evanston Chamber of Commerce, Evanston Township High School, and Evanston/Skokie School District 65.
