Wilimovsky Takes Gold in the Mile at Pan Pacific Championships

TOKYO — Fresh off a first place finish in the mile at the U.S. National Championships in July, former Northwestern swimmer Jordan Wilimovsky took gold in the men's 1500 at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships on Aug. 9.
 
Wilimovsky touched the wall in 14:46.93 to win the event, while fellow American Zane Grothe clocked in at 14:48.40 to claim silver. Wilimovsky's time moved him into fourth in the world rankings.
 
Fellow Northwestern alumnus Matt Grevers is also representing Team USA at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships. Grevers is slated to swim the 100 back on Friday, Aug. 10.
