Wilimovsky Grabs Gold in Open Water 10K at Pan Pacific Championships

HOJO BEACH, Tateyama, Japan — Former Northwestern swimmer Jordan Wilimovsky nabbed his second gold medal of the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships with a hard-fought 10K open water victory. Wilimovsky finished the race with a time of 1:58:50.6, six seconds ahead of the next finisher.
 
Wilimovsky opened up the Pan Pacific Championships by winning his first international medal in the pool with a gold-medal performance in the 1500 free by touching the wall in 14:46.93, just off his personal best of 14:45.
 
The Malibu, California, native finished off his Pan Pacs pool performance with a silver in the men's 800, touching the wall in a time of 7:45.19.
