Wildcats Add Devine to Class of 2022

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern wrestling's incoming first-year class is now complete as Brendan Devine (West Chester, Pa./Malvern Prep) has become the class of 2022's seventh and final addition.
Devine will head to Evanston in the fall alongside the already-announced Erich Byelick (Orlando, Fla./Lake Highland Prep), Lucas Davison (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton), Jack Jessen (Villa Park, Ill./Willowbrook), Matt Vinci (San Diego, Calif./Cathedral Catholic), Jack Heyob (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) and Michael DeAugustino (Palm Coast, Fla./Flagler Palm Coast).
Devine was a 2018 state runner-up at Malvern Prep and led his team to four=consecutive Inter-Academic League conference championships. He finished his high school career as a National Prep All-American and placed fourth at 2018 National Prep Championship. He also played three years of rugby in high school.
Devine's two older brothers attended Malvern Prep as well. His father wrestled at Navy and was in the Navy for a number of years, and his older brother Jack currently flies helicopters for the Navy.
