2018-19 Schedule

EVANSTON, Ill. —
A rigorous schedule and a return to Welsh-Ryan Arena awaits the Northwestern wrestling team in the 2018-19 campaign.

Led by newly-extended head coach Matt Storniolo, the Wildcats seek to improve on their 11-4 mark in the 2017-18 season, which included five Big Ten wins. That record surpassed NU's total in conference wins from the previous three campaigns.

Northwestern also qualified five for the 2018 NCAA Championships, its most since 2015. The Wildcat field was highlighted by Sebastian Rivera's sixth-place finish and All-America honor.

Chicago's Big Ten Team starts the year on the road, battling North Dakota State on November 4.

On November 18, Northwestern returns to the new Welsh-Ryan Arena with a dual against ACC foe Virginia Tech. After the home debut, NU will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, to compete at the CKLV Invitational (Nov. 30-Dec. 1).

The 'Cats return home to wrestle Old Dominion on December 7 then take a West Coast jaunt to compete in a double-dual in San Luis Obispo, California, against Cal Poly and Stanford (Dec. 17).

At the end of December, Northwestern hosts the 56th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois (Dec. 29-30).

NU starts its Big Ten slate on the road against Nebraska (Jan. 6), then hosts NCAA Champion Penn State (Jan. 11) at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The 'Cats will travel to Wisconsin (Jan. 18), and then have a three-dual homestand against Minnesota, Iowa, and Big Ten Champion Ohio State (Jan. 20-Feb. 3).

After a two-match stint in the Mitten State against Michigan State (Feb. 8) and Michigan (Feb. 10), NU ends its season with a pair of duals at home — Illinois (Feb. 15) and SIUE (Feb. 23).

The 'Cats will wrestle in the Big Ten Championships (March 9-10) at the University of Minnesota then the NCAA Championships (March 21-23) at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
