Dear Northwestern,
As I reflect back on my past four years at Northwestern, I am filled with an incredible amount of gratitude and cannot help but smile. Coming in as a freshman, I was clueless…but at least I had my other freshman teammates—Alexandria Chatt and Rheeya Doshi—right by my side every step of the way and we were clueless together. We thought we knew somewhat to expect, but in all reality had no idea what was in store for us. We would be challenged academically, pushed in tennis, and also continually be encouraged to learn and grow as people and humans. I can say with 100% confidence that we all came out better students, better tennis players, but most importantly as better human beings.
From the moment I stepped foot on this campus, I had my team by my side, and that continued all the way until the end. From the countless hours on court training, late night van or airplane rides, or spontaneous ice cream outings (sorry Julian, we went more than you would approve of), I will miss every second of those times with my team. Although my journey here at Northwestern has come to an end, I know that the friendships I made here will last a lifetime.
There is one special experience that stands out in my mind as being truly one of a kind and I will forever cherish the memories from and that was our foreign tour trip to Australia this past winter break. As a team, we trained in the intense Australian heat and we also got to explore many sights in cities such as Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and our favorite place to pronounce Tangalooma.
In my mind this ten-day trip helped to bond us together and was instrumental to our successful year on the court. We went on to become Big Ten Champs, host NCAA first rounds, and make it to the Round of Sixteen. And while yes, all this on court achievement was great, the friendships and team chemistry this year was truly incredible and no words can do it justice. I will miss this group of girls immensely and cannot thank Northwestern and especially Northwestern Women's Tennis for bringing these people into my life.
Also a special thank you to every athletic support staff member that helped us along the way, our professors, and especially our coaches, Claire, Julian, and Dané. Here's to the next chapter and knowing I can always call Northwestern my home,
Go 'Cats forever!
