Northwestern Earns Selections to NCAA Championships

NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships Selections
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern senior Erin Larner is a double-selection to the upcoming NCAA Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday.
Larner was selected to participate in both the singles draw as well as the doubles draw where she will pair up with fellow senior Maddie Lipp.
This is the first selection to either NCAA championship competition for Larner. For Lipp, it is the third time that she'll participate in doubles, doing so each of the last two years alongside Alex Chatt. Lipp also competed in the singles championship in 2016.
Currently ranked No. 4 in the nation by the ITA, the team of Larner and Lipp earned the No. 4 seed in the draw. The duo was the Big Ten Conference's automatic qualifier for doubles. Larner and Lipp have a 17-3 record in dual match play this season and have been ranked as high as No. 1 in the nation.
Larner is ranked No. 37 nationally in singles, boasting a 16-2 dual match record, including a perfect 9-0 record against Big Ten foes during the regular season. She is the lone Big Ten player to earn spots in both the Singles and Doubles Championships.
Additionally, Northwestern's team of Chatt and Lee Or were named an alternate for the NCAA Doubles Championship. The pairing is ranked No. 36 and has a dual match record of 13-2.
The NCAA Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships will get underway May 23 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on the campus of Wake Forest University following the completion of the NCAA Women's Tennis Team Championship.
