Northwestern Day at Arlington Park set for June 3

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – Purple and white will descend upon Arlington International Racecourse on Sunday, June 3 to celebrate Northwestern Day and recognize the pride of Chicago's Big Ten Team with unique and special events for fans of all ages.
Festivities will begin at 1:15 p.m. marked with world-class thoroughbred races in the Arlington Park racetrack. The afternoon races will feature the "Northwestern University Cup." Each horse in the race will feature an NU branded saddlecloth and Northwestern and Arlington representatives will have a special presentation in the Winner's Circle immediately following the race.
Northwestern Day at Arlington International Racecourse marks the eighth consecutive year that Chicago's premier thoroughbred racetrack, located in the northwest suburb of Arlington Heights, will host Northwestern Athletics coaches and staff throughout the race day. NU's coaches will be on hand for meet and greet with fans, and the Marching Band and Willie the Wildcat will entertain fans with special performances and photo opportunities.
Fans can enter a raffle for a chance to win four Northwestern football tickets to a 2018 nonconference game (choice of Duke or Akron), and pregame sideline passes. Fans will also enjoy the festivities to celebrate Family Day with pony rides, a petting zoo and more.
"We have had a great relationship with Northwestern University for quite a few years now, and it is a relationship of which we are very proud," said Arlington General Manager Tony Petrillo. "NU is one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in the country, and when they bring out the marching band, their coaches, students and alumni there is an energy here that is hard to match on any of our race days. Welcome NU!"
