Wildcats Head West For Husky Classic

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern looks to continue its strong winter campaign at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Washington with five runners competing in three events on Friday and Saturday.

Head Coach 'A Havahla Haynes' lineup features senior Sara Coffey in the 1-mile, and classmate Isabel Seidel in the 3000M. Haley Albers, Andrea Ostenso and Aubrey Roberts are set to run the 5000M and Seidel will join them to participate in two events over the weekend.
The 5000M race starts at 8:45 p.m. CT on Friday, while the 1-mile is at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. The 3000M gets underway that evening at 7:20.
The Wildcats have gotten off to a scorching start to the season, with Coffey earning her first career victory in the 1-mile her last time out at the Illinois Open with a 5:05.18. Roberts, Seidel and Ostenso swept the top-three spots, in that order, at the 3000M at the same open, with Roberts' win coming in 9:47.72.
Last weekend, Amanda Davis and Hannah Tobin competed at the USA Track and Field Cross Country Championships and posted top-ten finishes in the 6K to earn spots on the USA Track and Field Junior Team.
This weekend's event, hosted by the University of Washington, features a competitive slate of programs from around the country, with most teams hailing from the Pac-12 and the West Coast. The Wildcats will compete against Midwest Regional foes Oklahoma State and North Dakota.
