Roberts Shatters 5K School Record at BU Season Opener

BOSTON, Mass. — Junior Aubrey Roberts shattered her personal record and the Northwestern school record in the 5K at the Sharon Colyear-Danville BU Season opener Friday afternoon.
Roberts crossed the finish line in 15:32.38 to finish ninth overall, besting her personal record by 21 seconds and the NU school record by nearly 40 seconds. .
"Aubrey ran a well executed race within an incredibly distinguished field of women," head coach 'A Havalah Haynes said. "The race was paced at 15:12 to break the collegiate indoor 5K record and anyone who could be relaxed early would race to PR, Aubrey did just that besting her previous PR by 21 seconds. An exciting note to open up an indoor season with."

The junior's time is the fifth-best 5K indoor mark in Big Ten history and the third-fastest on a regulation track
