Pollard Announces the Additions of Crowley and Hand

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern head women's tennis coach Claire Pollard has announced the signing of two individuals to National Letters of Intent. Briana Crowley and Christina Hand will join the Wildcats for the 2019-20 academic year.
"Every year we strive hard to bring in classy student-athletes who will strive to push themselves to greatness," said Pollard. "This class is no exception and we can't wait for their arrival on campus."

High School: Rated as a Blue Chip five-star recruit and ranked in the top-10 nationally by TennisRecruiting.net … Top-300 world ranking … Plantation ITF and Atlanta ITF Champion … Seven-time national champion … Two-time national finalist … Winter national doubles champion … National doubles finalist … Orange Bowl doubles finalist … National clay court semifinalist … National Honor Society member.
Personal: Born Briana Cara Crowley on June 13, 2001 … Daughter of Julie and Brian Crowley. '
Pollard on Crowley: Briana is a fierce competitor who wears her heart on her sleeve. She will be a huge team player for us. She is full of life and spice. Her dominant forehand and relentless mentality will have an immediate and very potent impact to our lineup.

High School: Five-star recruit and ranked in the top-40 nationally by TennisRecruiting.net … The No. 2 ranked recruit in the state of New Jersey in 2018 … Owns a 25-12 mark according to TennisRecruiting.net, which includes 17 wins over five- and four-star recruits … 2018 doubles Silver Ball at Winter Nationals while partnered with sister Clarissa … Won 2018 National L3 singles and doubles … 2017 double Bronze Ball at indoor nationals with sister Clarissa … 2016 doubles Gold Ball at Hard Courts with Andrea Cerdan and Gold Ball with Cath McNally at hard courts.
Personal: Born Christina Quynh Hand … Daughter of Kim Hoang and Charles Hand … Sister Clarissa is a first year on the Northwestern women's tennis team.
Pollard on Hand: Christina is unassuming, intriguing and full of ability. She goes about her craft quietly and deftly. Her doubles instincts immediately will get her to the top of college tennis doubles and her impact to our singles lineup will be impressive.
