2017-18 Northwestern Basketball Schedule

EVANSTON, Ill. --
Two contests in early December and a three-game homestand in February highlight the 2017-18 Northwestern men's basketball Big Ten schedule announced today (Aug. 16).

Season tickets for the upcoming 2017-18 Northwestern men's basketball season will go on sale Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 9 a.m. and can be purchased by visiting NUsports.com or by calling 888-GO-PURPLE.

For a limited time, fans purchasing season tickets for the 2017-18 season at Allstate Arena will have the guaranteed right-to-buy season tickets in the newly-renovated Welsh-Ryan Arena for the 2018-19 campaign.

A compressed league slate due to the Big Ten tournament being played a week earlier than normal means all conference teams will play two league games the first weekend of December.

Northwestern opens its Big Ten campaign Friday, Dec. 1 when it hosts Illinois in the lone scheduled meeting between the teams. Two days later, the 'Cats make the trip to West Lafayette to face defending conference champion Purdue.

Following a return to nonconference play, the Big Ten schedule resumes for the Wildcats Jan. 2 with a third straight solo play as Nebraska comes to Allstate Arena. Following a visit to Penn State (Jan. 5), the Wildcats return home to face Minnesota Jan. 10.

NU heads to Bloomington four days later to take on Indiana before back-to-back home games against Ohio State (Jan. 17) and Penn State (Jan. 20).

The Wildcats then will be forced to become road warriors as five of their next six contests will be played away from home. The treacherous stretch begins Jan. 23 with a return matchup against Minnesota. Northwestern travels to Michigan Jan. 29 before it wraps up the stretch of three straight road games at Wisconsin three days later.

NU's lone home game during the six-game stretch is scheduled for Feb. 6 when Michigan comes to Rosemont for a second meeting between the teams over an eight-day span.

Road tests at Maryland and Rutgers are set for Feb. 10 and 13, respectively, before the Wildcats play three straight at Allstate Arena to wrap up their home schedule.

Preseason league favorite Michigan State comes to town Feb. 17 before another tough matchup with Maryland is on tap just two days later. Senior Night is scheduled for Feb. 22 when the Wildcats take on Wisconsin.

The regular season draws to a close Feb. 25 when Northwestern travels to Iowa for the only matchup between the teams.

Tip times and television designations for all Big Ten games will be announced at a future date.

Northwestern returns four starters and each of its top five scorers from last year's team that won a school-record 24 games, including one in its NCAA tournament debut.
