Larner, Lipp Earn All-Big Ten Distinction

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern placed two individuals on the All-Big Ten Women's Tennis Team as selected by the Conference's head coaches.
Junior Erin Larner earned her third all-conference honor in as many years, while redshirt junior Maddie Lipp received the recognition for the second consecutive season.
A unanimous selection, Larner has competed at No. 1 singles for the Wildcats through the majority of the season. She has posted a 14-8 record in dual match play, including notching a 8-1 mark against Big Ten foes. Larner currently is ranked No. 82 in the in singles. She also has been nationally ranked in doubles this season alongside Brooke Rischbieth. In addition to her two previous All-Big Ten accolades, Larner was the 2015 Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
Lipp has played the majority of her season at No. 2 singles for Northwestern. She has been nationally ranked in singles this season and also currently boasts a No. 15 national ranking when paired with Alex Chatt. She also is ranked No. 36 in doubles when teaming with Rheeya Doshi. Lipp and Chatt earned an at-large selection to compete in their second NCAA Doubles Championship later this month in Athens, Georgia.
Northwestern (14-11) earned its 19th consecutive bid to the NCAA tournament and will open up against Mississippi State on May 13 in Atlanta, Georgia.
