EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's men's basketball team recently continued its long-standing tradition of participating in the University's annual Relay For Life event supporting the American Cancer Society.

Annually one of the top student fundraising groups on campus, the Wildcats once again played a huge part in supporting the battle against cancer as the team raised over $8,600. The total made the men's basketball the second-highest raising team at this year's event.

In all, this year's event at Northwestern University raised over $112,000.

This year's event was held May 12-13 at Norris Center on the Northwestern University campus and the Wildcats participated in a game of knockout to further help raise funds for the event and keep the energy up among participants.

It was the 15th consecutive year that the men's program has participated in Relay For Life.
