Ko Leads The Way For 'Cats In 5000M At Redbird Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. – Ashley Ko led a pair of Wildcats at the 2017 Redbird Invitational, hosted by Illinois State University, on Saturday. The sophomore clocked a time of 19:07.04 in the 5000M event to earn a ninth-place finish.
REDBIRD INVITATIONAL - RESULTS
Ko and classmate Mary Orders represented Northwestern downstate this weekend, with Orders registering a 19:24.32 time in the 5000, good for a 12th-place result.
The Wildcats competed against a field that was loaded with in-state opponents, including the host Redbirds, Loyola, Northern Illinois, Bradley and Eastern Illinois.
A host of 'Cats will head west next weekend for a pair of events in California. Northwestern will run at both the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific, and the Mt. Sac Relays in Torrance.
