First-year student-athlete Aubrey Roberts, fresh off a terrific performance representing the United States at the IAFF World Cross Country Championships in Uganda, will run in the final, most competitive heat of the 5000M event on Thursday night, and also compete in the 1500M on Frdiay. She will be joined on Thursday by classmate Sarah Nicholson and sophomore Isabel Seidel on the starting line alongside runners from perennial powerhouses Oregon and Arkansas, among others.

"We're looking to go out, put ourselves in the race and execute the given race strategy for each individual," said head coach 'AHavahla Haynes.  "Azusa has done a great job of building this meet over the past couple of years and there will be some great competition from all over the nation. Our intention is to use that competition to build on the early season times we established in San Francisco a few weeks ago."

Wildcats Brooke Pigneri and Jena Pianin will also compete in earlier 5000M heats under the lights on Thursday at Cougar Stadium. Northwestern is in search of qualifying times for the 2017 NCAA Prelims in Austin, Texas.

On Friday night, in addition to Roberts, Wildcats Kelly O'Brien and Sara Coffey will compete in the 1500M with heats scheduled to begin around 8:30pm PT, and run from slowest to fastest expected times.

The entire 2017 event can be viewed live on FloTrack on Thursday, April 13, and Friday, April 14. Northwestern's first heat on Thursday night is tentatively scheduled to begin at 7:40 p.m. PT.
