Wildcats Welcome Four Newcomers On National Signing Day

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern cross country has added four talented newcomers to the family, head coach 'AHavahla Haynes announced Tuesday. The quartet will enroll for in the summer of 2018.
"This is an exciting signing class for our program, one that brings strength and speed to the roster," said Haynes. "One thing that stands out watching them race in high school is their collective ability to close over the final 400 meters, a necessary component to propel the program forward and compete at the Big Ten and NCAA Division I level. Their achievements in the classroom and extracurricular interests bring diversity to campus, one of the pillars of what makes Northwestern and the Big Ten Conference great."

Three-year team captain in both cross country and track … Won 2016 Foothills High School's 'Knight of the Year ' award recognizing top female athlete … Four-time All- County honoree … Two-time Most Valuable Runner in cross country, two-time winner in track .. Northwestern cross country finished the 2017 team campaign with a ninth-place result at the 2017 NCAA Midwest Regional in Ames. Sophomore Aubrey Roberts earned All-Region distinction with a fourth-place finish, and earned her second consecutive trip to the NCAA Cross Country Championships, hosted this weekend in Louisville.
