EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern travels to Bloomington, Indiana on Sunday for the Big Ten Championships, where the Wildcats will look to improve upon their strong early season results.

All 14 Big Ten Teams in attendance will race in a 6K on the Indiana University Championship Cross Country Course, starting at 10:45 a.m. BTN will air the race on delay on Monday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m.

"As a team we are in a good spot heading into Big Tens," head coach 'A Havahla Haynes said. "Team and individual confidence is high from performances at Pre-Nationals and that should transition nicely into the competition on Sunday."

Last time out, the Wildcats finished 19th out of 43 teams at the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Louisville, Ky. Sophomore Aubrey Roberts finished 34th overall with a 20:30.0 6K, and Sarah Nicholson, Haley Albers, Andrea Ostenso and Sara Coffey all finished in less than 22 minutes.

The strong finish at the event propelled Northwestern to No. 4 in the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional rankings, tied for the highest regional ranking for the program in the poll's history. The 'Cats leapfrogged Missouri in the rankings after finishing 100 points better than the Tigers, ranked No. 24 at the time, at the Pre-Nationals.

The Wildcats had already started to build momentum this season with a strong race at the Cowboy Jamboree on Sept. 30. Roberts finished third at the 6K hosted by Oklahoma State with a 20:47.6 time while Sarah Nicholson finished eighth with a 21:08.0.

Northwestern will bring Haley Albers, Sara Coffey, Andrea Ostenso, Isabel Seidel, Sarah Nicholson, Aubrey Roberts,  Kelly O'Brien, Hannah Tobin, and Amanda Davis to the race in Bloomington on Sunday.

"The goal for this race is no different that the of the previous races," Coach Haynes said. "Go out, run as a pack and move as hard as you can over the last 1k."

Northwestern is one of seven Big Ten teams ranked in the top five of a regional poll. Minnesota sits atop the Midwest Region, while Penn State leads the Mid-Atlantic and Michigan leads the Great Lakes. Six teams in the conference are ranked in the top-30 nationally.

At last year's Big Ten Championships held at Minnesota, Northwestern finished in ninth place, while Roberts and Nicholson finished in the top-30. Roberts' fastest 6K time this season is 55 seconds faster than the 6K she ran at the Big Ten Championships last season, while Nicholson's top time this season is over a minute and ten seconds faster than her race at Minnesota.

Live Results for the race can be found here.
