Northwestern Hosts Wildcat Invite to Open Fall Season

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's women's tennis team will open its fall season this Friday through Sunday by hosting the annual Wildcat Invite. Matches will be played at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center and are slated to begin at 9 a.m. each day. In the case of inclement weather, matches will be played indoors at Combe Tennis Center.
In addition to Northwestern, participating schools include DePaul, Eastern Michigan, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, UIC and Wisconsin.
The Wildcats return eight letterwinners from last year's squad while welcoming one freshman, Nina Van Oost. NU has two individuals and one doubles team that earned preseason national rankings from the ITA. In singles, redshirt junior Maddie Lipp is ranked No. 30 while junior Erin Larner is No. 61. In doubles, Lipp teams with junior Alex Chatt to earn a No. 8 national ranking.
