EVANSTON, Ill. — Connor Lind and Jack Dunn of Northwestern baseball have each been named All-Stars in their respective summer leagues.
Lind, who played third base for the Wildcats during the spring, is spending his summer with the Asheboro Copperheads of the Coastal Plain League, while shortstop Jack Dunn is playing for the Norcross Astros in Georgia's Sunbelt Baseball League.
The Coastal Plain League's all-star game will take place on Monday, July 11, at 6:05 p.m. CT, while the Georgia Sunbelt League All-Stars will faceoff against the Florida Collegiate Summer League All-Stars and the Southern Collegiate Baseball League All-Stars in a two-day event on July 16-17.
Lind has started and appeared in 22 games this summer and is batting .276 for the Copperheads with 24 hits, including six doubles and a home run. The Arden, North Carolina, native has been named a starter on the league's West All-Star roster.

"I am grateful and humbled for the opportunity to play in the Coastal Plain League's All-Star Game," Lind said. "I am looking forward to representing my family, Northwestern and the Asheboro Copperheads at such a great event."
Dunn has been on a tear for the Norcross Astros this summer, hitting .355 with 22 hits and eight RBIs in 16 games.

"Being selected as an All-Star, no matter how old you are or where you're playing, is always a great honor," Dunn said. "Playing the game of baseball is what I love and whenever I get the opportunity to play more, especially in an All-Star format, is definitely a rewarding experience."
Dunn and Lind were the only two Wildcats to both start and play in all 54 games last season. Lind completed his sophomore campaign with a .289 average and was second on the team with 58 hits. Dunn wrapped up his freshman year by hitting .258 with 55 hits, 18 RBIs and a team-best seven stolen bases.
