The Wildcats were one of only three teams in the field (USC, Virginia) to place all five competing student-athletes inside the Top-66, and put four inside the Top-50. Northwestern missed the Top-8 and a spot in the match play quarterfinals by one stroke. This season marked the Wildcats fourth straight appearance in college golf's premier event.

Freshman Stephanie Lau led the way with her third under-par effort of the tournament, finishing Monday at 1-under to wrap up the event at 1-under after 72 holes. Her 11th-place finish in her NCAA debut is the second-best Championships result in program history, and the best by a rookie. The Big Ten Freshman of the Year's three birdies in Round 4 gave her a team-best 14 over the weekend.

Sophomore Hannah Kim finished in a tie for 36th, carding a 4-over 292 after 72 holes. The two-time Big Ten Player of the Year turned in one of Northwestern's five rounds under-par during the NCAA Championships, recording a 2-under 70 on Sunday.

Junior Kacie Komoto fired a 1-under 71 in Monday's fourth round to conclude the NCAA Championships with a 6-over-294, good for a share of 49th-place. She was joined there by freshman Janet Mao, who carded a 1-over 73 on Monday and a 6-over-294 in her first NCAA Championships experience. Sophomore Sarah Cho registered a team-best 50 pars over four days, and finished in a tie for 66th with a 300.

All five Wildcats in the lineup at the NCAA Championships earned 2016 All-Big Ten honors, and all five are slated to return next season.
