CHICAGO —The Chicago Sky has signed free agent Maggie Lyon to a training camp contract. Per team policy, contract terms were not disclosed.

"Maggie's a tough player with a high basketball IQ," said Sky Head Coach and General Manager Pokey Chatman. "Her ability to shoot/stretch the floor, play without the ball in her hands and finish around the basket makes her a tremendous offensive threat."

The 6-foot-2 guard from Northwestern University averaged 16.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game during the 2015-16 season. Lyon broke the Wildcat's career 3-point record at Minnesota on January 20 finishing with a career-high 31 points and 12 rebounds. The two-time co-captain is Northwestern's active leading scorer with 1,693 career points and ranks sixth on the Wildcats' all-time scoring list. She also ranks fourth on the Big Ten's career active scoring list, finishing among the league's top 15 in scoring for the 2015-16 season. Lyon received All-Big Ten honorable mention in each year of her career and was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2013. She is a product of New Trier High School in Wilmette, Illinois.

Lyon will join the Chicago Sky when training camp begins on Sunday, April 24. The Sky opens the 2016 regular season on May 14 against the Connecticut Sun at Allstate Arena.
