EVANSTON, Ill. – Sophomore JR Reimer smashed his first home run of the season and Jake Stolley struck out a pair in three innings of scoreless relief as Northwestern lost to No. 20 Michigan 12-3 at Rocky and Berenice Miller Park.

Northwestern's record moves to 7-20 on the season and 1-4 in the Big Ten, while Michigan advances to 19-7 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

Dan Kubiuk (0-2) started on the bump for the Wildcats, putting in 4.1 innings work. He posted three strikeouts and allowed six runs on 11 hits. With the bases loaded and just one out, freshman Tyler Lass came in to relieve him, working out of the jam to keep the game at 4-0.

Combining both games of the double header, the Wildcats were effective at bringing their runners around to score, with six hits and seven runs on the day.

Michigan starter Brett Adcock (3-2) pitched six innings, maintaining a no hitter through five of those frames. Adcockvstruck out eight of the 21 batters he faced. Michigan left fielder Matt Ramsay put three over the fence and had seven RBIs, going 4-for-5 in the game.

In the bottom of the eighth, Willie Bourbon led off with Northwestern's third walk of the game, before the pinch-hitting Reimer put the 'Cats on the board with the second home run of his career.

Northwestern loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth on three walks, and Willie Bourbon was able to knock in Matt Hopfner with a hard grounder to first, picking up the Wildcats' third run of the game.

Connor Lind came into the game with a 24 game on-base streak and put the ball in play in all three of his at bats, but could not find a way on base as the streak came to a close.

Northwestern faces Michigan once more this Sunday, April 3 at 1 p.m. CT. The game will feature the grand opening celebration for the new Rocky and Berenice Miller Park.
