EVANSTON, Ill. — A historic day is on the horizon for the Northwestern baseball program.
Next week Northwestern will officially christen the newly renovated Rocky and Berenice Miller Park. The Wildcats will play Chicago State on Wednesday, March 30, at 3 p.m. CT, for the first-ever game at the state-of-the-art ballpark, before hosting the stadium's grand opening weekend against Michigan on April 1-3.
Ceremonies to celebrate the Wildcats' new home will take place on Saturday, April 2. Northwestern will honor and recognize countless donors, alumni and supporters of the program that helped to make this project a reality, including Richard (McC'53) and Roxy (Comm'53) Pepper.
Roxy is the daughter of Rocky and Berenice Miller. In June 2013, Richard and Roxy Pepper generously pledged $5 million toward the renovations at Rocky Miller Park, and followed it with an additional commitment to the project to help complete the fundraising effort.
Saturday's first pitch against the Wolverines is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT, but fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy a pre-game tailgate in the west parking lot, just across the street from the entrance of the stadium. The pre-game tailgate will begin at 11 a.m. and run through the beginning of the game.
Tickets to Saturday's grand opening celebration, and all Wildcat home games, can be purchased here.
Also, for the first time, fans have the ability to purchase a single season pass that will be good for all 19 games at Rocky and Berenice Miller Park. Pass prices are $49 for adults and $29 for youth.
