Coffey Earns Second-Straight Big Ten Player of the Week Honor

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern senior Nia Coffey has been named the Big Ten Player of the week for the second-straight week, the conference announced Monday.
Coffey averaged 21.5 points, 13 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 1.5 steals in wins over Virginia and Chicago State. She shot a combined 55.6 percent from the field last week.
The senior co-captain had another strong offensive output during the ACC/Big Ten Challenge against Virginia. Coffey tallied 29 points and 14 rebounds to lead the 'Cats in both categories for the fifth time this year. Against Chicago State, Coffey added 14 points and 12 rebounds in just 22 minutes of action, setting a school record for career rebounds. She has shot in double-figures in 55-straight games, dating back to Jan. 22, 2015, to tie a program record for consecutive games in double-digits.
Coffey and the Wildcats return to action on Sunday, Dec. 11, when they head to Milwaukee. Tip is set for 1 p.m.
