Northwestern Set for 54th Annual Midlands Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. – The 54th annual edition of the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships kicks off tomorrow morning at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Northwestern will have all of its wrestlers competing in the tournament.
The Wildcats are led by sixth-seeded Johnny Sebastian at 165 lbs. and have three seeded wrestlers – Sebastian, Anthony Rubinetti (No. 9) at 125 lbs. and Mitch Sliga (No. 12) at 184 lbs.
The 2016 Midlands will the biggest yet with 39 teams and more than 400 wrestlers set to compete. The two-day event will conclude at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, with the final round aired live on Big Ten Network.
Session I will start at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday with Session II set for 7 p.m. later that night. Session III begins at noon on Friday.
