
Roberts, Nicholson lead #B1GCats in Big Ten Championship

ST. PAUL, Minn -- The Wildcats paced their way into a ninth-place overall finish at this Sunday's Big Ten Championship meet, with Aubrey Roberts and Sarah Nicholson securing spots in the race's Top-30. The meet took place at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in St. Paul, hosted by the University of Minnesota.

Standout Freshman Aubrey Roberts paced herself amongst some powerful competition, claiming 12th place with a time of 21:25.2 (5:44.5 average mile), making this the fourth time this season that Roberts led the 'Cats across the finish line. Following the race, an awards ceremony was held where she received recognition for being a Second Team All-Big Ten Honoree.
Following in the footsteps of her teammate, Freshman Sarah Nicholson placed 29th with a time of 22:09.0 (5:56.3 average mile).
Next to score for the Wildcats was Senior Jena Pianin (23:05.3), followed by Juniors Isabel Seidel (23:09.3) and Haley Albers (23:28.3). Sophomore Hannah Anderson finished in 23:51.3, followed by a duo of Seniors [Ellen Schmitz (24:02.4) and Andrea Ostenso (24:04.3)] and Junior Brooke Pigneri (24:15.6).
Northwestern (254 points) positioned themselves between 8th place Indiana (171) and 10th Illinois (286). Michigan took home first place with Senior Erin Finn as the individual champion, claiming the crown with a time of 20:37.2, followed by Penn State and Michigan State.
