9/23/2015 10:00:00 AM | Football, General
While celebration will continue throughout Homecoming weekend, this panel has been canceled
THIS PANEL HAS BEEN CANCELED. THE 1995 TEAM WILL CONTINUE TO BE CELEBRATED THROUGHOUT ITS 20TH REUNION DURING HOMECOMING WEEKEND. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THIS EVENT!
EVANSTON -- Twenty years ago, the Northwestern University football team shocked the nation with one of the most magical seasons in college football history. The Wildcats stunned 27-point favorite Notre Dame in their season opener, then topped ranked foes Michigan, Wisconsin and Penn State on the way to a perfect 8-0 conference campaign and the Big Ten title, earning a berth in the Rose Bowl for the first time since 1949.
Now, four of the men responsible for taking the Purple to Pasadena are coming back to Evanston to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the extraordinary season.
Join former Northwestern coach Gary Barnett, Heisman Trophy-finalist Darnell Autry, All-Big Ten defensive back Chris Martin and key receiving and punt returning weapon Brian Musso for "Expect Victory: The Legacy of Northwestern's 1995 Rose Bowl Season." The former Wildcats will look back at the magical season and examine the lasting impact the team had on the football program and the University as a whole.
Los Angeles Times reporter Ben Bolch, who helped anchor the Daily Northwestern's coverage of the '95 season as Deputy Sports Editor, will moderate the conversation.
The event will take place at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, at the McCormick Foundation Center Forum (1870 Campus Drive) on Northwestern University's Evanston campus.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, more than 40 members of the '95 Big Ten Champion team will be honored during Northwestern's Homecoming matchup against Iowa, and Barnett will serve as Northwestern's honorary captain.
