Ostenso, Wildcats Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

EVANSTON, Ill. – Junior Andrea Ostenso earned Division I All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and the Wildcats were named an All-Academic Team, the association announced Friday.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and participated in the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds). This season Ostenso became the first runner in modern program history to represent Northwestern at the NCAA Track & Field Championships. The Ladysmith, Wisconsin, native, an environmental engineering major, competed in the 10,000m event in the West Preliminary in June in Austin, Texas.
The Wildcats earned the team honor for posting a cumulative GPA above 3.0 for the 2014-15 academic year. All 14 women's Big Ten programs were named All-Academic in 2015 to lead the country. Next on the women's list were the Atlantic 10 with 12, the SEC with 11 and both the Big 12 and the Big Sky with 10 each.
