Zach Jones Nets College Sports Madness All-B1G Nod

First baseman led the Wildcats with 32 RBIs in 2014
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern junior first baseman Zach Jones earned a spot among the conference's best players, as he landed on the 2015 College Sports Madness All-Big Ten Second Team.
A durable performer, Jones started 51 of the 52 games he played in 2015. The Glenview, Ill., native batted a career-high .321 while leading the Wildcats with 70 hits. He also led the club with 32 RBIs, which surpassed his combined total from 2012 and 2013 (28). The same can be said about his career-high 20 two-baggers, which were seven more than his first two seasons combined. Jones ranked second overall in the Big Ten with 20 doubles this spring.
In one game this season Jones set the high mark for hits by any Big Ten player in a single game when he clubbed seven at UNLV on March 20 to tie a Northwestern program record. He also hit his first career home run on April 21 in a 9-5 win over Milwaukee. That round-tripper was also the first at the renovated Rocky Miller Park.
