NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Wildcats sophomore Jena Pianin raced away from the field to win the 5,000m event on Thursday night at the Dr. Keeler Invitational on the campus of North Central College.

Pianin crossed the 5,000m finish line more than five seconds before her closest competitor. Teammate Rachel Weathered finished fifth berth while Wildcats junior Elena Barham secured 11th in a field that went more than 50 runners deep. Sophomore Ellen Schmitz took home a sixth-place finish in the 10,000m race to wrap up the evening.

Northwestern will wrap up the Dr. Keeler Invitational, the team's final outdoor track event of the regular-season, on Friday evening with Isabel Seidel and Hannan Rose in the field for the 3,000m Steeplechase.
