EVANSTON, Ill. -- In conjunction with the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS) and the NCAA, Northwestern will celebrate its 494 student-athletes during National Student-Athlete Day Monday, April 6.
Now in its 28th year, National Student-Athlete Day was created by NCAS to highlight and honor the outstanding achievements of student-athletes nationwide. The Wildcats currently boast 494 student-athletes who excel in the classroom, in the community and in competition at Northwestern. All current student-athletes are invited to visit Anderson Hall on April 6 for snacks.
To recognize National Student-Athlete Day, Northwestern has set a goal of getting 220 contributions to the Wildcat Fund today. That number is significant because it represents NU's 220 Academic All-Big Ten scholars from the 2013-14 school year. If the goal of 220 is met, contributors who donated $50 or more will receive a special pair of Northwestern earbuds.
