Sarah Cho Wins 2015 Big Ten Golf Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --Wildcats freshman Sarah Cho won the 2015 Big Ten Women's Golf Individual Championship, shooting a 3-under-par 213 (72-70-71) over three days for the first victory of her college career. Northwestern surged on Sunday to win the Team Championship at The Fort Golf Resort, the second Conference title in the last three years for head coach Emily Fletcher and the Wildcats.

Cho dazzled with her consistency throughout the weekend, finishing as the only player in the field to play all three Championship rounds at par-or-better. The freshman from San Diego turned in the best performance of her rookie season to become the second Big Ten Champion in program history.
The Wildcats entered Sunday's final round six shots off the lead after a rain-soaked Saturday in Indianapolis that included a weather delay. But Northwestern erased the deficit throughout the morning thanks to four underclassmen. Sophomore Kacie Komoto carded the low score of the tournament's last day, a 2-under 70. Classmate Suchaya Tangkamolprasert recorded 17 pars on her way to a 1-under 71 to match Cho, while freshman Hannah Kim played Sunday's round at even-par 72 to round out the scoring group.
Northwestern and Ohio State shared the Big Ten Championship with a three-round score of 863. The Wildcats and Buckeyes were followed by third-place Purdue (872), fourth-place Michigan State (878) and fifth-place Michigan (882) at the par-72, 6,221-yard Fort Golf Resort. Due to the Big Ten's tiebreaking procedures, the Buckeyes earned the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Championship.
