Big Ten Tournament - Day Two Recap

Michigan 4, Minnesota 0
Top-seeded Michigan took care of business, rolling to a convincing 4-0 victory over eighth-seeded Minnesota in a quarterfinal round contest Friday morning. The Wolverines needed just over two hours to complete the sweep and move on to a semifinal matchup against either Penn State or Indiana.
Michigan cruised to the doubles point, winning 8-0 at No. 1 and 8-1 at No. 3.
The Wolverines got off to a good start in singles play as well as they won the first set in all six of the matches. Emina Bektas, ranked No. 28 in the nation, rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the top position to put Michigan up 2-0 in the match.
The Wolverines would eventually close things out with wins at Nos. 3 and 4. Ranked No. 117, Sarah Lee earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at the No. 4 spot before Alex Najarian closed out the match moments later with a 6-2, 7-6 (4) victory.
Penn State 4, Indiana 2
Fourth-seeded Penn State outlasted fifth-seeded Indiana 4-2 to advance to semifinal round matchup against Michigan.
Doubles proved to be a marathon as Penn State won at No. 2 and Indiana won at No. 3, leaving the doubles point to be decided by the match at No. 1. The decisive matchup went to a tiebreaker with Penn State's Katia Blik and Victoria Kisialeva eventually winning to put the Nittany Lions in front.
In singles action, Katie Klyczek helped the Hoosiers even the match as she rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 win at the top position. PSU went back in front when Devan McCluskey won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 5. A victory by Kimberley-Ann Surin at No. 3 by the same score put PSU up 3-1 in the match.
Indiana stayed alive when Carolyn Chupa earned a 6-4, 7-6 victory at No. 6, but Kisialeva was able to close out a 7-6, 6-2 triumph at No. 2 to give Penn State the victory.
Ohio State 4, Purdue 2
Ohio State, the No. 2, outlasted the weather and seventh-seeded Purdue to move on to the semifinals. The match took over five and a half hours to complete with rainy conditions forcing the action indoors late in doubles play.
Once the match resumed, the Buckeyes were able to capture the doubles point by getting an 8-4 victory at No. 1 and an 8-6 win at No. 3 to surge in front.
With the two teams limited to three courts indoors, singles action began with matches at Nos. 4, 5 and 6. Olivia Sneed extended the Buckeyes' lead to 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at the No. 6 spot.
The Boilermakers earned their first point when Krisztina Kapitany finished off a 6-1, 6-3 win of her own. Ohio State closed to within one victory of the match win when Miho Kowase closed out her 7-6 (4), 6-3 win.
Purdue stayed alive when Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2, but Gabriella De Santis earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 1 to clinch the match for the Buckeyes.
Northwestern 4, Illinois 3
It took six hours and a rally from a 3-1 deficit, but third-seeded Northwestern moved on to a semifinal matchup with a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over sixth-seeded Illinois.
