EVANSTON, Ill. -- Lok Sze Leung ended her final regular-season match in style, and No. 27 Northwestern posted a shutout for the second straight day, beating Nebraska 7-0 at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center.

The Wildcats (14-6, 9-2) clinched the No. 3 seed in the 2015 Big Ten Women's Tennis Tournament with the win on Sunday.

"We are going to have to play three really great matches," head coach Claire Pollard said. "None of them are going to be easy.

"We have traditionally played well in the tournament, so I look forward to it."

Northwestern will seek a 17th straight Big Ten championship and its 16th conference tournament championship in the last 17 years.

Leung put the finishing touches on another dominant Northwestern performance. With the team already up 6-0, Leung battled back from a second set loss to win the 10-point third set tiebreak over Mary Hanna for her 13th dual victory of the year.

"[Hanna] raised her game in the second set, and I just had to step up in the third," Leung said. "I had to play the best points I could to come out with a win."

The senior was honored during the intermission period between doubles and singles.

The Wildcats earned three quick singles wins to secure the team victory. Erin Larner made it look easy at No. 2, taking a 6-0, 6-2 decision from Izabella Zgierska. Just minutes later, Jillian Rooney capped a 6-1, 6-1 win over Lisa Andersson at No. 6, and Alex Chatt put the Huskers away with her own 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 4.

Rheeya Doshi and Alicia Barnett fought through tight second sets to secure wins. Doshi won her first frame 6-2 and came back from a 5-3 deficit in the second to win 7-5. Barnett and Maggy Lehmicke went to a second set tiebreak at No. 1, and Barnett came out on top 7-6 (4).

Northwestern has been strong in doubles play of late, and Sunday's match was no different. The nation's 42nd-ranked doubles team of Barnett and Larner made quick work of their opponents at No. 1, winning 8-1. The `Cats claimed the doubles point when Chatt and Leung, playing at No. 3, battled past a tough opposing tandem to win 8-5.

The Big Ten Tournament begins Thursday, April 23 and will be hosted by Northwestern for the second consecutive year. Weather permitting, all matches will be held outdoors at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center. Visit the tournament homepage for more information.
