Baseball Announces Winter Camps

EVANSTON, Ill – Northwestern baseball has announced the addition of four winter camps: The Wildcat Baseball Youth Showcase, Wildcat Youth Day Camp, Wildcat Hitting Academy, and the NU Underclass HS Showcase Camp.
Wildcat Baseball Youth Showcase | Sunday, Dec. 13
Ages 8-12 ($450 per team/$75 per player)

Northwestern is offering a Youth Baseball Tournament that is an excellent opportunity for any and all youth teams (Ages 8-12) to play games in the winter. Northwestern Baseball wants to give youth baseball teams the opportunity to compete in a tournament that guarantees each team three games in our indoor football facility (Trienens Hall). Each team is required to have at least six active players on the field (3B, SS, 2B, 1B, OF, OF). NU coaches will pitch and will assume umpire responsibilities as well. Team coaches are asked to be present and keep lineups consistent with a normal game. Attention is given to gameplay and instruction to enhance the level of each youth player. Northwestern baseball is asking for teams to sign up, but individuals can sign up and our staff will work to place them on to a team. All campers will receive a Northwestern Baseball t-shirt and free admission to one Northwestern Baseball home games.
Wildcat Youth Day Camp | Tuesday, Dec. 29
Age 6-12 ($99/ player)
Times: 1-4 p.m.
Northwestern is offering a Winter Youth Day Camp that is an extraordinary opportunity for any and all baseball players between the ages of 6-12 to be instructed by the Northwestern University Baseball Staff. The Wildcat Youth Baseball Day Camp will take place in our Indoor Football Field (Trienens Hall). Members of the Northwestern Baseball staff will be present and instructing at all times throughout the camp. The participants will be instructed in all phases of the game, including hitting, defense, pitching, and base running. This clinic will offer both personal and group instruction. Attention is given to providing a fun environment for the players while developing the skill level of each individual. All campers will receive a Northwestern Baseball t-shirt and free admission to one Northwestern Baseball home games.
Wildcat Hitting Academy | Wednesday, Jan. 27 and Wednesday, Feb. 3, 10, and 17
Grades 4-8/9-12 ($300/player)
Times: Grades 4-8 will be from 6-7 p.m., each week and grades 9-12 will practice from 7-8 p.m.
The Winter Hitting Academy that is an opportunity for any and all baseball players in grades 4-8 and grades 9-12 to get instruction from the Northwestern Baseball coaching staff. The camp will take place in the Wildcat Indoor Cages (Annex, Trienens Hall). The participants will be instructed by the NU baseball stapp in all phases of becoming a better offensive baseball player. Attention will be given to gaining a better understanding of how to become a better offensive contributor to each individual's team. The Northwestern Baseball staff will use different methods of instruction, including but not limited to video, diagrams, and demonstration. Each week grades 4-8 will run from 6pm-7pm and grades 9-12 will run from 7pm-8pm. All campers will receive a Northwestern Baseball t-shirt.
Northwestern Underclassmen HS Showcase Camp | Sunday, Feb. 14
Grades 9-11 ($150/player)
Times: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Winter Underclass High School Prospect Camp is an opportunity for high school students to receive instruction from the NU baseball staff. The participants will be instructed in all phases of the game, including hitting, defense, pitching, and base running. Northwestern will also offer education on proper collegiate athlete nutrition along with proper strength and conditioning training. Attention is given to proper instruction and drills to enhance the skill level of each individual. All campers will receive a Northwestern Baseball t-shirt.

All prospective campers must submit a completed application form online. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis until all positions are filled. Acceptance of a camper will be verified upon receipt of the application with full payment. Please note that it is extremely important to provide a valid email address, as our confirmation and all communication will be sent via email. Credit card payments are accepted, but checks are not accepted.
